On this subject here is a tip.

I wanted to change Sterling to Euro but worked out a way to get more Euros for my sterling. Go to a bank and change Sterling to Lira and then change Lira to Euro. I ended up with nearly 300 euros more when changing up a 1000 sterling.

Msg 4

Can't see how that stacks out. The exchange shops will give direct days rate exchange from £ to Euro were as the banks will go through Lira losing out on the buy/sell rate twice and double commission.

The Banks always convert to Lira first anyway & then buy the Euro. I'd assumed the exchange places would do exactly the same with a transaction from Sterling.

I'm going to buy some Euro tomorrow & will be changing only from Lira. That's a much better deal at present.

I changed over £ to Euro today and got 1.175 to the £ which is mid-rate, no going through Lira. 1TL= .514 Euro (1E=1.943TL). AndyP must have been very lucky to have got 1475 Euros for his one grand Stg!

Message 4.

Please tell me where I can get 1470+ Euros for £1000.

I'll be down there like a shot if they are still in buisness.
