Spearfish, how did you manage to make a reply with only one character string? I'm just baffled because if I ever try to give a one word answer the system rejects the post as having too few words... OK I know a number in digit form is not a word but really - why?

Thanks for the info. I guess these are great if people go ot and leave air con on but the disadavantage if you want the untis on overnight you have to keep getting up to switch back on

Agree.

You either have to keep setting your alarm clock to wake you up before the a/c shuts down, or you can leave it until the heat wakes you up, covered in sweat in a soaking wet bed.

The trouble with these meters, is that you have to purchase cards for them to work. If you don't live in the TRNC permenantly who do you get to hold the cards? Who wants the responsibility of holding them and taking money for them and having someone knocking on your door at 10pm at night asking if you have any cards as the A/C has just gone off? If you can come up with coin operated ones, I'll buy some.

We hold stocks of new cards for people who buy meters off of us.

Your villa manager/housekeeper can hold the cards and leave some when visiting before guests arrive.

Your villa manager/housekeeper can advise you how many cards have been used by the previous guest and you deduct the money from the guests deposit.

If you leave enough cards no-one needs to knock on your door, besides there is an "emergency credit" button on the meter that will see them through to the following morning.

I tend to agree with your comments on the metres. Our letting agency only advertise the rentals with electricity included so they try and pitch the price according. The problem is when people abuse the air con and leave it on all day when they go out. If they are in the apt and leave it on so be it



A lot of the hotels use the card system which activates the electric and it cuts of when you go out and take the card with you but i have not heard of this system in NC
