As you can see from all the helpful comments above, because of the prohibitive import duties here, cars start from about £2K, and that would be for a real clapped out old banger. Expect to pay at least a couple of grand more for any car than you would pay in the UK.

Please take the hint. Whilst they may be lighthearted, they are telling the truth. Nowhere on this island will you find a car that is roadworthy for 1500TL although it might get you a half decent 50cc scooter. £1500 might get you a dodgy 1985 left hand drive Renault 19 if you are lucky.

Yes you can buy something for 1500TL. Probably cost a fortune in repairs though.
