Anyone know the cost of connecting two pool lights. The lights are in the pool but have not been connected. I think I require two transformers. Any advice would be appreciated.

Transformers can cost around 35-50 pounds depending on their Wattage. You may have 100W lights or 300W lights.

You can run two 100W lights off of one 300W transformer. You will also need to wire a switch in the pump room to turn the lights on/off.

Can't really help you more without more info.

Be very very careful how you connect lights to the power source. No idea about the regulations in TRNC but in the rest of Europe there are specials regs covering swimming pools. If you are unsure pay someone who knows what they are doing or their bill may not be the only shock you get.

Hi Vaughan

All I know is the wires are in the square covers next to the pool but not a clue where they run to but I would think to the pump room. I was just after a rough guide for the price so I can compare with some quotes. Sorry but how would I know the wattage of the lights if they are under water, would the electrician know. Cheers

There should be one pair of wires that run to the light and one pair back to the pump-room. These two pairs should be connected together.

The 300W lights are recessed (into the pool wall) at the back. The 100W lights are surface mounted onto the tiled wall. Difficult to tell when the pool is full, but you learn to tell the difference with experience.

Where is your pool? If you want I will send my engineer round to take a look and quote.

Vaughan

Take the road between Erdiner petrol station at the bottom of the new bypass and the row of shops. Not the Santoria road. Go up this road for about 1/2 mile and you will see 4 white villas on the right going east to west built by greatstone construction, there are 2 new villas being built in the front. The small road is called Barbaros Sokak and it is the far end villa number 5. There maybe someone in as they are renting but if not no matter. There are no dogs or vicious cats to my knowledge there LOL. My email is solic200@hotmail.co.uk . Thanks Vaughan.
