Went to Canada Optics for new specs and also a replacement frame for a broken pair. First class service from a very nice young lady who spoke perfect English, went early Wednesday afternoon, specs ready Friday afternoon - earliest is 10 days at Specsavers if you are lucky. Pleasantly surprised at cost - 100TL for replacement frame and 180TL for new pair which are also reactolite lenses. If anyone needs to know, they also do have eye test facilities upstairs at a cost of 50TL.

We now live in North Cyprus and have not been back to the UK for 3 years. However, Msg 2 if what you say is correct good for you. Last time we used them, we had to wait 10 days for new specs. Also, Msg 3 we to used their great deal for buy 1 get one free, however, when they had added extra for reactolite, non scratch, etc etc the glasses we had purchased for £95 for which we expected a second pair for free ended up costing us over £160 perhaps not such a great deal. Also the glasses we purchased from Canada Optics came with a free hard case, not the cheap option you get from Specsavers.



Msg 4. They are situated on the main Girne/Lapta road, two doors away from Astro store, which is also an ideal place to park as just a very short walk away.



Our point of the posting was to promote the excellent service received and encourage people to at least give them a try, we were very pleased and so may other people.

Just my new glasses cost £170 the nearest I got as a comparable quote was £300+ in the UK high street

It took them longer than usual for them to be ready I asked why the lenses came from Portugal(daily delivery suspended by ash) The firm make optical lenses and safety ware glasses for industry in the UK but my lenses get imported I though I was buying local

Also the optician on the right down the hill in Girni did a great job on replacement frames for the wife last year



Before you ask why so dear they are very thin& light rimless vary focal lenses as well as photo chromic and if they weren't done this way they would weigh a ton because of my challenged eyesight

We have used Ackay Optics in Girne many times. Their service is excellent, prices much better than here in the UK.

A few years ago I broke a pair and posted them to Ackay. They were retuned to me swiftly, and no charge was made for the repair.

I broke my glasses a couple of years ago and took them to Ackay Optics in Girne, they were repaired in half an hour, and I was charged the equivalent of 50p.... brilliant service

Has anyone had their eye test done at canada Optic? I thought that the only place was the eye clinic in Girne.
