Do you remember those days when they had "team orders " ? Not any more by the looks of things . I suppose Red Bull management will be having a quiet word . Also Jensen and Lewis weren't giving an inch . Touching wheels around hairpins isn't good for the heart , especially if you are the McLaren team manger !! Great stuff though !! Brits 1 and 2 ,lets have some more of that !

We had a great day topped by a British 1 -2! We couldn't have scripted it better. The circuit was a bit ragged, the "grass" area was strimmed weed, very stoney and dusty, not a pleasant verdant sitting area... Points to note 1. Next year take a blanket to sit on and a big brolly for shade, it gets mighty warm on the ground. 2. Water 4 TL for small bottle - beer Efes 15TL a tin... rip off. 3. Never buy programmes etc. outside the grounds - fake alert! We didn't but many did... 4. The circuit is more hilly than it looks so getting a great position is tough.. 5. Many of the Grandstands were totally empty, I guess as the main one was not full most people had got a free upgrade, but seeing as they wanted €220 it's not surprising - their pricing strategy is bonkers. 6. Don't get off the bus back in a village hoping for food and beers - the food looks good but no beer! Village totally dry - they sell it in the supermarket but don't serve it with food... Doh!

Good things... 1. The bus from Sabiha Gökcen to the circuit is only 1.5 TL nice surprise. 2. General entrance 70TL which is not too bad.. 3. The atmosphere! Put me down for the next one...

Grouch Was there a race commentary in English available via local radio? I want to do Istanbul next year but want to make sure that I can keep up with what is going on. Istanbul has got to be the best and most exciting circuit in the F1 calendar. AJ

AJ Go next year, it was amazing, really really amazing, Grouchos grouch is soooo boring, words cant explain the atmosphere , commentry was in english but its so noisey you cant hear it most of the time. Take your own beer, water, food and cool box, book a seat on a stand (grandstand not cheap, but a fraction of Silverstone and the best place to be)The atmosphere on our stand was so wow and spine tingling and they all loved Hamilton & Button, the only thing British left to be proud of. Costs: for two £560 for hotel and F1 with seats, left Ercan 7.30am friday arrived at Taksim Square Hotel by 10.30am 2 nites flew back sunday nite, Party, shopping and food money was extra. I will be trying to post my video clips of the weekend later today, will let you know if it happens !!

Mark, I really enjoyed the day, I don't know why you find my observations so boring but it was merely a list of things I'd do better next time and was all it was intended to be... I did start with "We had a great day topped by a British 1 -2! We couldn't have scripted it better" and I did follow up with the good things! AJ If you've got a DAB portable radio I reckon you could get the live commentary over headphones.. As Mark says the cars are so loud you can't hear the live commentary on the circuit in any language....
