Geoff,

I'll answer you then!

You would get exactly the same FTA channels as on every other Nilesat FTA system - you've been on the Forum now for two years, so I'm surprised that you've not seen the many previous posts and discussions about the available channels, but just in case you've missed 'em, you could use the 'Google Custom Search' facility at the top of the page...

And just in case that fails, you will find every channel listed here: - http://www.kingofsat.net/

We got Uran to fit this for us 2 months ago, you get the Sat dish, the FTA receiver and installation for £110 nothing else to pay. The installation and set up was done by two guys who very very good and polite, they demonstrated the system etc and we have had no problems at all. For us the Nilesat package is excellent as we used to have it in Dubai you have some excellent Movie channels we have about 7 (English Speaking) there is never a time that there is ot a good movie to watch, loads of sport and music channels and English speaking News Channels.

Other companies are offering this system for 500 lira why pay that when Uran offer it for £110?

Unless you are a couch potato then the FTA on Nilesat offers a good selection of programs.

I cannot believe the number of people who have moved here and still insist on UK television, most of it being dross.

Geoff,

I get your point about not being 'Free'

- But then again, nobody said that it was free, they are described as 'FTA' - that stands for Free-to-Air, and means that they are transmitted without being scrambled in any way, so that anyone with suitable equipment can view them without a subscription.

Of course, you can use your existing receiver and dish, if they are suitable, in which case they really ARE 'Free' - or you can go to someone like Halil who sells and installs the equipment -

Let's face it, even if you want to watch 'local' TRNC television 'for free', you need a receiver, and an aerial of some sort pointed at that mast on the mountain

Anyway, I'm glad if I made you laugh!

Keith.

p.s. A long time ago, before I 'branched out', I was a TV engineer, so I think that ALL television is CRAP!

- but this isn't bad for 'FREE'!
