The best bit about them is when they suddenly shut up around dusk - bliss!

I never saw them as a problem, they are simply part of life in many places.

When they do become a problem is when they are behind your cupboards, as we found when moving in!

Poor little buggers have spent 17 years underground, not surprised they want to make some noise before they cop their clogs...

Surely they're part and parcel of being abroad. It's the sound of summer. Much better than the noisy traffic. I know what I prefer!!

Record their "songs". Play back on any reasonable equipment with a bit of extra treble and obviously sufficient volume to "compete" and you’ll be amazed at what happens next.

Let us know.

Works every time.

I love the sound they make. Rather the sounds of nature than traffic, etc.

They are part of life here. We look forward to their arrival every summer.

No doubt some of you also complained in UK about the rooster crowing early in the morning.

Exactly what I was saying. Don't know why people who want to complain don't just stay indoors in their rainy, wet, cold home in GB and then there won't be anything to complain about ! Simples

Better than dogs barking all night, taxi drivers too lazy to get out of their cars to press a door button and sit idly beeping the car horn, Turkish males beating the hell out of their screaming female partners and lastly, the 'Happy Birthday' song blasted out at mega decibels at 8.30 in the morning announcing the start of the school day!

We had the field next to us chopped yesterday and it was great watching the bee eaters swoop on the little critters. Not the fact that they were being eaten but the fact that we got to admire these beautiful birds close up, absolutely stunning!
