has any one got the latest requirements for residency could me if the letter muchtarligi for the in and out is the same as residency thanks hope you can help

u need

Contract of sale or rental agreement (stamped)

pink /blue book (only get this when 1st residency is done)

Letter from your local muhtar

Copy of your passport photo

copy of last residency stamp

copy of bank statementl

last date you left TRNC







If there are two of you then you will need another copy of everything when you submit to the police station.

Have I forgotten anything anyone?

we registered for the first time last week

letter from muhtar - one each (has to be original not a copy)

1 10 lira stamp each

2 copies of passport showing both pages not just photo

2 passport size photos each - (theres a photo shop just down from the hsbc cost 15tl each for 8 photos in pack)

copies of bank statements (here) for each of you must show your name (regardless of whether a joint account)

original deeds plus 2 copies with tax stamp



get tp girne police station for 7.15ish to queue for ticket - office opens at 8am



when you have handed everything over and they are happy they will send you for a blood test and tb test. lab will give you a receipt to take back to station at which point you will fill in a further sheet - then its waiting for blood results (blood test just round the corner from police station near starling fruit shop were 80tl each

Go to police station in Girne and ask them, they will give you an up to date list of what you require. I've always found them very helpfull , we didn't have any trouble with residency.

In the past I have taken copies of UK bank statements and that was fine. They want to know if you have a pension and or savings to live on.
