Liverpool are looking at buying 3 Scots for the forthcoming season.

As thread says standards will start to improve maybe back to the heydays. As the foreign Legion or in Liverpools case Spanish Armada has not worked and not reliable even Torres who is always injured shows not the 100% commitments that the Scots did- Remember who was the backbone of the Leeds, Man U ,Arsenal and Spurs Great Teams in past ......yes came from Bonnie Scotland!!

Is the clock going to be rolled back and maybe the overpriced foreigner becomes a thing of the past!!

Can also help with Scottish World/European Trophy ambitions.

Our time will come!!

After all our Premier League is not very good and needs an overhaul and booting out the foreigners as they are no narks and what international teams do they play for!

We shall always remember Andy Camerons lines in the 1978 World Cup Song- Allys Army.......

'When we reach the Argentine we're really going to show

The world a brand of fitbal that they will never know

We're representing Britain we have tae do or die

Coz England cannae do that, coz they didnae QUALIFY!!

And how we hated it haha!!

Sussed me Paul,

Its a tongue in cheek but Liverpool are looking at the Rangers defender called Wilson and Dundee United Striker Goodwillie as well as having a young scots guy in the Academy.

Thought a bit of fun was needed!!

Jock,

On the 3rd. June 1978 Scotland were beaten 3-1 by Peru and got the plane home soon after. FACT.

Yes I hate to admit it but Vincent1 is spot on, the Argrntinian adventure was not a success, beaten by Peru, drew with... Iran and then had the best goal ever scored in the history of the world cup against the eventual finalists Holland- wee Archie Gemmil.

It was in 1974 that we were unbeaten.

Back to the thread, Sir Alex Ferguson is also telling Man U that there is a better cass of player now emerging in Scotland and Birmingham's Alex McLeish is a fan of Scots Players.

The Premiership needs some characters like we had before- Tommy Burns, Billy Bremner, Scottish Goalies !!!

Message 7..... Liverpool are looking at the Rangers defender called Wilson and Dundee United Striker Goodwillie as well as having a young scots guy in the Academy.

Goodwillie - made up name ?? Having been lumbered with a moniker like that, he deserves to succeed. I bet opposition fans have a field day with his name when they are singing on the terraces

Paul,

David Goodwillie is a real guy and was on shortlist for Scotland Young Player of Year, he also scored in the Cup Final!

Well if your a good guy in Yorkshire your known as a horses Cock, scousers will no doubt have an expression about him if he signs/or get signed!

Also just read on Sky that RAFA's future is in doubt- now that is great news for Liverpool and will strengthen the Premiership! Get him away to ruin Juventus!!

Angus

Seems that they are trying to work out a severance package for him.

Amazes me that Juventus are interested in a manager who has presided over abject failure for the past couple of seasons. I am not a Liverpool fan but think it is a great shame that such a great club is in it's current situation.

Thanks for your thoughts Paul,

I always said that we won the Champions League too early and was Houlliers team, same with FA Cup . Scraped the Champs League final and record was not that spectacular as mainly qualified from group stages on skin of teeth. Benitez had no real clue on domestic trophies either and as for that Rotation System!!

Apart from Torres ,Agger and Alonso he has not bought at all well and ignored youth- can you really tell me that Ngog is better than any local Liverpool youngster!!

Other players with reputations arrive and depart almost for nothing and do not make any impact!

When he is gone Liverpool will need a good sensible manager who can build a team as I think we will loose both Gerrard and Torres, not RAFA's fault but the Yanks!!
