A friend of mine uses Veronika, apparently ex-physiotherapist to Bulgarian Olympic team (or something like that). She's in a road opposite the main hospital in Girne, tel. 0533 865 5225.

It'll take more than a physiotherapist to get you moving Ralph96!!!

Yep same thing in UK, I was going 3 times a week for about 4 months, stopped going when they started sticking needles in me and then giving me electric shocks via them, ouch.... Sometimes things just need to heal themselves.

I loved the electric shocks and needles it really was stange.

Ralph there is no quick fix for the limp swim swim swim exercise in the pool with a 2 kilo wight on your foot you need to build the muscles up like I do so I have been advised, also told to expect it to take 6 - 12 moths before I am right !!

Sorry Ralph96 - I wasn't suggesting that you shouldn't have Physio. In my case, it made a huge difference in the short term but as time went on and they tried to fine tune things I was coming away feeling worse than when I went in and I decided it was time to stop - they would have quite happily carried on. I was getting it on NHS so it wasn't as if they were gaining from it. My problem was a dislocated coccyx, quite literally a pain in the bum ;-)

To slightly correct an earlier comment about Veronika. Yes, she is a very good, qualified physiotherapist - not Bulgarian though! She is a Romanian - used to be a gymnast - but has lived here for many years. She does have a place near the hospital in Girne but she actually works out of Jasmine Court Hotel herself. The phone number given for her is correct.

She's helped a great many people over the years, particularly those recovering from strokes, accidents and the like.
