Newlad, the aid given for the benefit of the Turkish Cypriot community, £259 million, was meant for social & economic development, infrastructure, especially energy & transport, telecommunications & water supply and other. 880 contracts, most of them grants, have been signed. Most of the contracts have been signed and most will be completed by the end of 2011. All for the benefit of the Turkish Cypriot community aimed at putting an end to the isolation of this community and helping prepare for the reunification of the Island.
