ps i know its old fashioned but would love to cover some of the old stains cracks etc on ceilings

if you can get it you could use plaster do the patten then paint it if you have stains you must put oil base paint on it or thay will come back. i will ask my friend in south if thay sell it he is a painter

just re-skimm ceilings. or do you really like artex. i am a plasterer and there wont be that much difference in price.

Oh blimey...i hate to say this, but the house i grew up in, had an avocado bathroom, red tiles in the kitchen....and every single available surface was artexed! I had so many bruises and scratches from knocking into corners ecetera, teachers thought i was abused....but it was just clumsy old me walking into the artex....i couldn't hate artex more if you paid me!! Vile stuff...nothing cool about it at all!
