A report out in the UK today states that the worst dressed tourists are the Brits. Locals can spot a Brit at 500 yards and speak English to them immediatly due to the fact they, the tourist, are so badly dressed . What are your thoughts as you ' locals ' see tourists every day ?

Mum..swimming cossy showing the white outline of yesterdays t-shirt and shorts, 3rd degree burns on the tops of her shoulders. Kids.. burned arms and cheekbones being carried asleep, cos Mum and Dad went for a drink last night. |

I can spot a Polish female 200yds in front of me walking down the street of Ballymena N.Ireland. It is easy to pick out the foreigners if you are a local, no big deal, doesn't matter how they are dressed. Would you have people walking around in suits or slacks @40*c. don't think so. Find a much nice topic to post Ray

Oh, I thought you were describing the Brits that now live here. My fault, I didn't read the title before I started reading the thread.

Ray. You are correct. Locals can spot foreigners BUT the topic was Brits being the worst dressed tourists. Can not see what is wrong with the topic but if it offends you I will presume you will not see this reply.

I guess we learned a thing or two from the Yanks when sartorial elegance was being transported throughout the globe... Paradoxically if it's very hot you should cover up with light airy clothing and not let it all hang out only to suffer ribald remarks from those who know better (or anybody else for that matter...) Sun is not good in excess but it seems that message does not sit pretty with lots of Brits abroad...

Brits abroad are easily recognisable. Sitting in 'English' pub s eating 'English' breakfast, or 'burger and chips'. Re dress sense, all holidaymakers leave common sense at the front door as they lock it to go on holiday - that is what a holiday is about. No sniding neighbours etc. Go, enjoy, then go back home. Can anyone tell nationality just by what people wear during the day - doubt it!! Unless of course they have English top, socks and sandals and a copy of the Sun under their arm

Fat, bloated man with no shirt on, tatoos all over. Woman also fat with skimpy bikini on walking down Girne main street. Must be the most disgusting and disrespectful of all the Brits on Tour traits. Saw 2 men in a supermarket other day, no shirts on and the staff just ignoring them, as they justly deserved. Dress in bikini and shorts on the beach otherwise NOBODY wants to see you or serve you with respect and you will probably be ripped off and moaning on this forum when you get home. to UK.

Honestly, whatever next? tourists enjoying themselves, wearing what they want on holiday? (without being insulting or offensive) Spending their hard earned money, somewhere they have chosen to go for a couple of weeks R & R? Mind you, one could play a new game in the TRNC 'spot the tourist' although it could take a while with the way they are regarded from the comments on here and word continues to spread at the way Brits are treated (i.e. Afkinans Bank etc.)
