Just 2 questions done all our paperwork & medical at Girne Police station and told to go the Nicosia 15days later this works out to be a Saturday the day our visa runs out.

1 as we have started the process with number in front of passport can we go to Nicosia on the Monday a day after visa runs out? (heard that once process has started you are ok until they say yes or no you can stay a year)



2 where has the office moved to in Nicosia it used to be the customs building near Astro but hear that is no longer the place to go.

Hi you should be ok, just dont try to cross to the south as you'll be fined!!, if you really want to play it safe, get the polis to stamp your passport(short extention).



New immigration building, go straight overthe main Girne/Lefkosia Roundabout, past the hospital(speed camera!), past mini roundabout, past DANO mill on right and at next main set of lights(Maxxum Garage), turn Left and first right, road leads round to left and you will see the New building to your right. As you walk in the main entrance, go straight ahead and turn left(Row of chairs), on the right hand side is the payments office, collect a number from them(English spoken) and then at first opportunity ignore the number given to you and walk in the door opposite (once opened- otherwise it'l hurt;)).Being Cyprus the number system is ignored and abused by all, you live here now so you are just as entitled. Can I just ask why you would be fined for going to the South?

Is this just whilst you are there under the 3 months visa?

Sorry i read it that your visa would have run out,on leaving the TRNC they check for overstayers.

Thanks for instructions will make sure door is open before entering!! You are correct our visa runs our on Sunday and we are due for residency on Monday next week. Talking about the border my son in law lives in South with my daughter the other week they came for weekend on arriving he realised his UK passport had run out that day - got back over the border day later no problem just does not make sense does it?
