Try spraying your rooms with Raid insecticides before going to bed and keep the doors and windows locked.

Bring or buy the electric plug ins and buy some Vape tablets here, put them in all rooms and remember to keep changing the tablets. Vape also do some good after sun mosquito spray that smells nice and seems to work for us. If you are going to buy insecticides read the label carefully as most are dangerous if inhaled, esp. by kids - there is one called Sertex that basically kills all kinds of insects. You spray it around liberally, preferably when you are just leaving the house for a few hours, leave it and it works for weeks. Can be bought from most supermarkets.

I have found that using a shampoo with coconut oil works.. I use "Haci Sakir" brand as a body wash and it really works... no surprise as it contains the same active ingredient as "Skin So Soft" and is available from Lemar etc. for about 4.50 YTL for a large 1,250 ml bottle...

To test the theory I left it off the daily routine for a couple of days and was bitten to death... back on it now and no bites for months....

You could also try putting some citronella or eucalyptus oils in with your body wash/shower jel.

Vapederm...green plastic bottle, after sun made with the above, totally herbal and non harmful to the kids...don't 'need' to solely use it as after sun as I use it as my everyday repellent!

For insecticide spray, try FLUTEX..green and white tin, non toxic, does not contaminate food(when used as directed) harmless to humans and other warm blooded animals.

Also a tip if you have dogs and you find a tick..spray the flutex into the lid, dip a cotton bud in the liquid and dab it on the tick. It kills it instantly, then eventually falls off dead. Removes the chance of pulling the tick out and leaving the head under the skin which creates a nasty infection.

Hey ttoli - told you it works - like magic isn't it !!!

Problem for battyboy though - depending on the age of the kids - I think they advise against vitamin B1 under 10 years (not sure but I think I saw it somewhere so double check).

Just back from week in TRNC & for first time did not get one bite! Couldn't

believe my luck as always get them & allergic reaction too usually. I left my

windows open at night as can't sleep with a/c on (wasn't working in main room anyway) Avon skin-so-soft taken off me at airport as only took hand

luggage. All above mentioned by others will or may work for some.

Only thing I had was a wee thing bought on plane for £5 - works by sound &

only v. young (which excludes me) & mosquitoes can hear it. Didn't even need

to use it much. Maybe at this time it was too hot for them!
