Yes, had it happened to me I would have told my parents straight away. Strange that it continued into his adulthood. I don't know what to think... Paedophiles are vile creatures and one less is a good thing. But I have strong feelings about vigilantes too. A difficult one.

I agree Ailletoo, it is a difficult one. For instance, if the case gets thrown out (which i hope it does) what happens then....a new precedent is set...does this mean, that any Tom Dick or Harry can accuse Uncle John of kiddy fiddling, and get away with murder....so glad i'm not the judge on this one! DD ps...i am sorry this happened to you, and i'm sorry if this post has brought up horrid memories....forgive me.

I think it is a very close one to call. The judge cannot let him off murder / manslaughter but looking at the circumstances , he was justified in protecting himself . What if he had killed the man AS he was being molested , would that be any different ? One thing that always amazes me is....why do they let it go on for so long ?? Also this man was only an " alledged " paedo. He hadn't been charged with anything before. Public opinion will always be on the victims side .It could only happen in America !!
