Does Aqua City in Northern Cyprus really exist?



We are supposed to be purchashing a 3 bedroomed apartment but it appears that it has all come to a halt?

I did read an article about 2 years ago about a London Turkish Cypriot who had purchased an appartment there and despite all assurances that even then was not ready for occupation . The poor guy had actually come out and viewed for himself and was really let down!!



Seems like its another 'White Elephant' yet its very close to main road and in full view. Henry Charles did at some stage have a huge banner there!



Is it still there- I shall see next week!!

I think it's being built by Lapis. The office for Lapis is on the main Catalkoy road, just past tempos. It could be Lapis 5, or maybe thats just the name of the project?

What does your contract say?







There is a complex in Girne that is being advertised as being completed 6 months ago,all the second floor apartments are sold out. Trouble is ,the second floor is fresh air as the plot is still an untouched field. Wonder what the purchasers are being told?



Dont know how often it has been said on this Forum .Dont buy off plan,and still.....

Hi

Aqua City was advertised 4 - 5 years ago. It is on the Way to Nicosia on the left side of the road not too far from the yellow train. We considered an apartment there. Loads of building has been done and it looks as if one part is completed (from the road). When I passed it last week I thought that some apartments were occupied or had blinds up. It has taken a long time, but the villa we bought is now in court as it never got finished.

Pester Charles Henry till you get a response and some inforamtion.

It is a great place and will be fantastic - if they get it finished.

Thats it, its on google earth. Good couple of years work,no sign of work vehicles.



Google= Aqua city ,north cyprus, plenty info.but all the same.

bought from henry charles 3 years ago, aqua city/ paid all up front 35000 pounds, no sign of finnishing. not one phone call from henry charles or builder in three years , they are the worst estate agents ihave ever come across. does anyone know a good solicitor thats not in a meeting all day. somebody please help me. iwill be coming out their in 2 weeks time.

Yes, we understood what we were purchasing, all I was, politely, asking was if anybody had an idea what state it was in. If we talk to Henry Charles they tell us the builder had 'run out of money' but was hoping formore funds to become available - evidently, lots of people hadn't all paid up in full before completion.

After reading your story, and others ,plus reading the advice given by people on here,not to buy off plan.

People still do it,even though there is plenty of finished property with title to chose from.

Why, I dont know, its certainly not cheaper.

The Henry Charles who were advertising these apartments in Aqua City up to about 2/3 years ago are not the Henry Charles that are now. The Estate Agents were originally owned by Oscars but they sold out. Do not know who the present owners are but I don't think they advertise Aqua City now.
