Hi there everyone

Me and my other half have a joint holiday home in Catalkoy which is in joint names. Someone has told me that if you have a property in joint names, and one of you dies and there is no will, the government (or whoever), taike 50% of your property and the remianing person, gets the other 50%. Does anyone know if this is true. Can anyone recommend a solicitor for setting up a simple will and does anyone know how much this would cost approximately.

Thanks

You usually both have to make a will and the cost is or was £100 but there is a way you can do it yourself I think that the BRS will be able to help with that

Pat - message 1 I suggest that you chat to Elko2 who has very good knowledge and understanding on things electronic and legal (maybe best off board ismetus@gmail.com ). His wife is an experienced Advokat and he has the knowledge to assist her if needed. My will was complex and they did a great job on it. (Of course to be proven when I pop my clogs.)

You could also try Naiomi Mehmet and co, they advertise on this site, very professional and they charge £125.00 for a will.

Hi

We got a form from the HBPG, 2 witnesses and some Government stamps and went along to the law court offices (a door just by the Tapu office) and had it signed, stamped and wax sealed. Total time about 1 hour.

Why pay Advocate fee's when it can be done easily enough by yourself.

Good luck

Gtg
