I don't think it'll be easy but then I remember that at the heart of the USA defence is Oguchi Onyewu who played on loan for Newcastle alongside Titus Bramble and subsequently got dropped because HE was making too many costly mistakes - and I think that Rooney is odds on to score!!!

Just read on on a Sports website how the USA manager is grateful for all the help he's had from a certain Scot we all know and hate...

THis influential Scot who earns his money in England has helped the US team in an effort to help them to beat England...

The Scot in question....Fergie

Back to the game, the US always raise their game when they paly the big teams, so I'll go for 1-1 then the US will lose to Algeria lol

As an american, I will freely admit that our defense is incredibly bad, though onyewu is much better now than he was in his newcastle days,. I'll call it a 1-1 draw because england usually plays poorly their first match and USA does tend to step it up for big teams. Hope springs eternal.

Graham, lets watch the football and enjoy the feast. Looking forward to all the flags being taken down, the critical analysis and the disappointment of another English failure in a couple of weeks. Invited a few friends round Saturday evening for a BBQ with hamburgers and hot dogs as well as apple pie

USA to score three goals sounds great but to be honest a USA win by 1 goal seems the most likely

Roxy

Cant see how predicting Rooney getting sent off was anything other than a light hearted prediction

If you dont like the Scots just say so ,rather that start an argument where there is none.

You certainly do nothing to gain support from Scots, with your bigotry.

Mess 37.

Scotland crap at rugby,if you mean they are not as good as England, then you are correct.

Having a total population of only 75% of that of London, I dont think we do too bad.

London vScotland, would be a more even playing field. wonder who would win.

Best wait till you have won world cup and proved you arent 'crap' yourselves, before pouring scorn on other nations, and eating humble pie

Not good at cricket.Whats cricket? Were not good at tiddly winks either.Big deal.

Regardless of trying to get our backs up with the comments of how crap we are . I wish England all the best just as I would Wales or Ireland, and look forward to watching good football regardless of the winner,

England losing 1-0 after 15 minutes, winning 2-1 at half time and a 3-1 win overall.....I'm Welsh but also a realist and as I'm a supporter of an English Club side, I will follow (not support) their exploits in this World Cup as I have done for every other that I have watched. Will Rooney keep quiet.....no chance, it's not in his nature and he wouldn't be the player he was if he did, will John Terry flap at the back.....at some stage yes, probably that will lead to England going a goal down......will Joe Cole succeed.......I guess we'll see tonight

Today's England vs USA match has broken the record for the most ticket sales of any world cup match, not because it's a momentous occasion of a 400 year rivalry culminating in the form of the beautiful game, the most popular sport on Earth, it's just because the average American takes up 3 seats
