the cheap ones are pants you can http://www.elance.com and its a bit like eba for the IT world, not easy to get into it, if you want I can scope it for you and you pay the bill nothing me.

It depends what you want it to do but a simple 4-5 website will be around $100 yes thats dollars

Great for logo desig etc

How many pages and what do you want it to do

Plus you need monthly hosting from £3pm

Have a look at http://www.mrsite.co.uk For about £35 a year, they provide a "web site in a box", with your own domain, and a large number of templates to chose from. Or you can do your own design and upload it to them. If you like what you see,you can shop around and find the best price, as what you are buying is a registration code to allow access to their services. I know several people who use them, and they are all happy.

or this one http://www.justhost.com/

Will the site name be registed in UK or TRNC?

When you say that you have tried, does that mean that you have some experience - say with Microsoft Frontpage?

What help are you actually looking for? Is it someone to actually build the pages?

What sort of site is it going to be?

Hi Teresa,

Have a look at http://www.easily.co.uk

It is not free but is quite cheap and reliable; I have been using it for years for our company website in the UK.

I tend to use Dreamweaver these days for the basic outlines, makes life simple when you want to add the odd bit of own HTML to tweak the designs a little. There are very cheap copies available if you look around!!
