Nelson Mandelas great grand daughter killed in a car crash on the way back from the world cup concert. only 13 years old. No one else injured in the crash.What a terrible blow to Nelson Mandela and his family.

Mandela was due to officially open the World Cup but because of this tragedy, will not now be doing so. Poor child, and poor family.......



Following the road crash that killed 3 British students only 2 days ago, there was a televised piece on last night's news about the state of the roads/highways in S.Africa and how the country's death toll from road crashes is one of the highest anywhere.

IMO, the person behind the wheel of any vehicle that crashes without being involved in a collision can usually be found to be at fault - whatever the causes.

Anyone with grandchildren may have some idea about what Mr Mandela must be feeling after this accidental tragedy.

I remember what happened to Stompie and was Mandela's wife Winnie not behind it!

Or her football team!

In Soweto a long time ago how all has changed, and lets hope for the better.

political stuff should should be left behind , this is football , and only about football , accidents happen , the world cup should not be turned into a political circus , the country is volatile , should never been the host nation ? but it is , lets get on with it .
