Does anyone know the best Supermarket to use in the Lapta / Alcansak area?, visited a few, but are out for over 3 week this time so would like to know if they pretty much all charge the same of if some are much cheaper? The most important price is for the Efes as that will be in large demand!

Starling sometimes do the multi packs for 1 or 2 YTL cheaper than the going rate. Otherwise 5 to 10 Kurus per bottle is the only saving, and you'll spend more than that in fuel looking. So just buy it at your local place. Enjoy the refreshing taste.

Best to buy direct from the delivery lorry, the boys normally carry surplus to requirements and will sell at the wholsale price (always nice to miss out the middle man)

note: you must guarentee to give the crate of empties back next time!

billbob If you know the Dolmaci supermarket on the edge of Alsancak village I have found this to be cheaper for Efes than Freshco, Starling, Astro etc. I always get it in the 4 pack as this is cheaper than 4 single bottles. But you are going to have to drink a lot to make any real savings, I do save quite a lot myself.

Aslan, on the point of giving the empty bottles back, i asked the guy in the wholesale shop near the supreme supermarket, if there was any way the empty bottles could be returned and he said just throw them away. now i'm not a recycle nut but it does seem a shame that glass bottles are being thrown away when it really would be easy to use them again. Does anyone know of a way that these could be recycled? if the effes co would make crates available i would be only too willing to take them to the nearest bar for reuse, what do others think?

We buy from Hos Bes in Karsiyaka and they give us 15 Kurus off new bottle when we take empty back.

Not a lot but every little helps!

Officially there is a 15 kurus deposit, was 6 until recently but nobody bothered.

We always take our bottles back even if no deposit, they are recycled by Efes.

Try getting the young ladies on checkouts to understand what you want!!!!!!!
