Just had a skype call from our pool people who told us that the corner plates on our overflow grill have gone missing, if the thieving gits who have done this in the Alsancak area read this would you please put them back (some hope !) I will also add we are very friendly with a local plod, and he is going to patrol around around our villa.

I have heard that there is a replacement that is not so easy to remove, can anybody enlighten me.

the only replacement i can think of is a piece of marble with the corner cut to fit, its a lot heavier so that may be a deterent ?? or the same and mastic it into place,

We replaced all our corners with ceramic tiles bought from Mepas when we had a pool refit. The old ones were not stolen, but the corners were hopeless in the sun & got very brittle so they don't last long, if someone stands on them.

The special ceramic tile solution has worked. Mepas sell these tiles for pool surrounds but they are very difficult to cut because they are so strong. Needs an angle grinder, I'm told.

Tell me about it - we had all the grills taken, the corners were tiles, and they obviously had a bigger pool as they took a few from next door! Started padlocking gate after that when we were out for a few hours, as they must have had a van or something backed up! (this was last year)
