Having bought a place some 5-6 years ago we have mainly flown into Ercan. I am now trying to book flights for August and with all the shenanigans going on at CTA/Kthy I do not feel inclined to book with them despite the current low prices (our couple of weeks in the sun is far too precious to mess up!) Turkish Airline flights very expensive and/or very lengthy with a couple of stops on return flight and then flying into wrong London airport, so I am all for flying into Larnaca. I have found very good fligths, good prices, times etc, trouble is my other half is very worried that the authorities will have our cards marked by now as owners of esdeger property and fears being locked up or worse! Can anyone put his mind at rest? What do you all do?

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Do not worry.

An EU passport is just waved through at Larnaca.

If you cross over by foot at Ledra Palace or Ledra street, the police are usually quite friendly and will similarly just wave you through.

We have flown into Larnaca on lots of occasions and never had any problems despite passports full of TRNC stamps.

You are an EU citizen and there is nothing they can do. However do not carry any documentation relating to house ownership just to be on the safe side.

Enjoy your stay.

We've done it loads of time. Agree with message 3 - don't have house documentation with you - just in case!

A few mountains to navigate, just hope the Greek pilots have taken it easy on the Ouzo. They do have a propensity of wanting to cuddle the ranges!

We had the same worries but do not fear. NO PROBS.

A piece of cake through passport control.

Just fill out the little white paper before you cross over the border and everything is OK.

We have always flown to Larnaca several times a year for the past 5 yrs, as have our family... There is no problem getting from Larnaca to the North, its simple.... Do as advised and dont carry documents regarding your villa, we are in the EU as is the South...

Larnaca every time would rather look at the views by taxi than being sat on the runway at Istanbul

You can even pick up a hire car at Larnaca (pre booked in the UK, just make sure the company do allow a greenline crossing) Pick up your N Cyprus insurance at the crossing and you're away. have done it many times and is so much more convenient, and works out cheaper than getting a taxi.

felt the same as you, but have now flown to larnaca 4 times, no probs at all, taxi waiting to take us to kyrenia did all the formalities at the checkpoint for us. such a treat to fly direct, don't mind the taxi drive at all, very pleasant, will never fly to ercan again if i can avoid it, live 10 minutes from luton airport anyway so much more convenient for us. agree with others about not holding any documentation regarding your north cyprus home.

Always flown into Larnaca and never a problem either.

Didn't know you could pick up a hire car from Larnaca and take through to the North though, would rather do that and drive ourself - anyone know what company do that?
