Mick,

I think we'll have to club together and buy you a guide dog

Anyway - yes, it's well West of Girne - Alsancak in fact.

When you see the Astro Supermarket sign (closed, by the way!) - hang a left by the 'Golden Lady' - don't ask, you'll know her when you see her...

Cyprus Queen is then on the far corner of the first road on your left.

Hopefully the food is in-tun(a) with the locals, the plaice is located in a good postion, has some heart and Sole, and the foods not a load of carp, and no one can cook batter, it should work well.

I've haddock nuff of this, although bit of shark wit never hurt anyone

Keith,

Would rather have a sat nav as they don't eat so much!!! I have found Alsancak before - about two years ago - is it still there or has it changed into a furniture shop yet??? Jokes aside, thanks for the directions - there are lots of places across in the modern West that us wooly backs from the East never get to find, I guess that is true of both sides of Girne. Called in at Rivardo last week and that was a good fish and chip but still searching for the one that is as good or better (to us) than the chippy at Dhekelia.

Got fed up now of the three hour trip and the extra 25 euro cost just for a good fish and chip, anyway did not settle here to boost the income of the South.

Thanks again, will have a stab at finding this during the week.

Waddo.. better than Lambros in Dhelelia..................... never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been eating there, on and off, since 1983.. best fish and chips I have had anywhere.

I tried Rivado but was not impressed..... will certainly try 'Hakki Ramsden's' as don't live far from there. Used to be the Corner Bar a couple of years ago, I pass it every day almost but didn't realise they were doing fish and chips.

All these fishy jokes are giving me a haddock! and making me feel 'ruffe'! the outlook is 'bleak' and the 'dace' just seem to pass so quickly.... "enough" methinks!!

First ever trip to Lambros was in 1969 and it just never seems to change in quality but I contiue to seek the Golden Chippy........................................ Its a bit like the Holy Grail and I know that is buried under the Fish Shop on the side of the quay at Whitby!!!!!

Patricia, partly. The first post was deleted but being in the hyper intelligent mood I was in yesterday I made the mistake twice, would appreciate if you delete message 45 aswell allthough not too sure many people are using the link so it might not be that much of a problem.

Thanks, Paul

Flippers fish and chips Çatalkoy are the best i've tasted here so far and the cheapest, even better than Ravine.

cod chips & mushy peas were 12.50tl

will have to give this queen bar a try, just to compare.

Just so people can see the menu again as I screwed it up the first twice and then even managed to screw up the request for the mods to remove the wrong ones and leave the correct one, this should be a link to a page where you can see the menu from the Queen:

http://ncbarguide.com/review/bar-reviews/cyprus-queen-bar/

Hope it finally works, Paul

Hakkı tells me that it's actually named after his (business) partner's little daughter - she's the REAL Cyprus Queen

Anyway, get back to your pools and aircons, and let us edu-me-cated folks continue with our social intercourse...
