Going to fit ceiling fans shortly. Can anyone recommend a proven good quality model? Don't mind paying a bit extra for the quality.

Not sure of the make - but we got ours from Electrakur, who also came out to our villa and fitted them. Been very good - quiet running and no problems

I researched this particular topic in a major way, before we came out here. I'm not a great believer in Air Con, so we wanted some very effective fans. Firstly, I wanted to know why there was such a price difference - something from B & Q that was £20 to others that were £100+.

It all boils down to the motor. All a cheap fan will do is plod round, create a small draft and look the part, if you want something effective you need to spend some money. Ours are from 'fantastia' and their website will explain the reason why they work and what you have to take into consideration, i.e. blade pitch & length - size of the room / rod height - ceiling height / 3-5 or 7 blades. If any of these things aren't considered you will waste money and continue to sweat! Ours have 3 speeds forward and 2 speeds back (for sending warm air off the ceiling in the winter), and are really, really good, we have had no problems in 5 years.

I have seen nothing here of this quality, (I have looked for customers of mine) not sure about stockists in the south.

Thanks jacktheladett. Thats great info. I'm going to have a good look at their website - sounds like the technical info I'm after. If I unearth any Cyprus stockists I'll post back here.

Yeah Jock1. That is the UK site I've posted. Problem is I want them in North Cyprus. Trying to work out the best way to do it. No doubt I'll find a way around it. Suggestions welcome (practical ones that is) LoL.
