Does anyone know of any other TRNC forums that aren't dominated by a few people slagging off each other and knocking everything but their favourite pub?

I enjoy reading useful info (not 'advice' - there's too much of that) and passing on info, directions etc but this forum has been taken over by the damned and has completely lost it now.

This is still one of the best forums even if you don't always agree with some of the stuff that has been posted. As to advise lots of people including myself ASK for advise on here and usually get it. As has been said before if you don't want to read the postings if they are of no interest to you then, don't.

Donty I also check out http://www.glencoecyprus.com it gives good advice and there is no slagging matches, a lot of info about whats on and where theres also pics as well

This site is a valuable source of information, and never any backbiting. There is a site specific section where individual

"developments" can register their "development" and correspond with each other in confidence. Very useful.

Greg the owner is a mine of local information and takes a very proactive roll. Thoroughly reccommend.

n-awful. If i'm ill, I take advice from Doctors, If I want investment advice it's successful people I know and occasionally my IFA.



I will trust some unknown bod on a forum for directions but not with financial decisions.

DONTY.....it must be very comforting for you to neither want nor need the advice given on here by regular posters.



For the rest of us though,I would have thought it was infinitely more usefull to listen to and learn from the experiences (both good and bad ) of people who have been through the property buying process in the TRNC , rather than relying on blanket platitudes from "professionals" with a vested interest in promoting the property market in the TRNC and the services of developers,agents and advocates.

I trusted my professional advocate, paid my contractrual obligations (forgiving the obligatory £8K in penalties due to us).

paid my transfer tax, paid my KDV( both sitting in my advocates bank account) and where am I now?



£80K memorandum on my villa to cover the builders debts. It cannot be transferred until the £80K can be satisfied. Meanwhile the property can be taken to auction. I think I can talk with some authority on the matter! So much for professionals.



Cronus, malsancak ,cyprusishome, Bradus,Hector, to name but a few, offer excellent first hand advice to any purchaser of

Property in the TRNC., and they give it freely.

Plenty of other places that offer the good news on how you can treble your money in a year or get your kocan in 3 months. Anyone reading this forum at least knows he is reading a cross section of experiences.

http://cyprusliving.com is a great looking forum and seems very user friendly. Problem is though, there's not enough members on it and most seem to be selling electrical goods and phones.
