Hi You fun loving people. Apart from the Wednesday market in Girne, were can I buy an electric welder.

Wants to do around 100 amp to do the type of job I have in mind. I have one in the UK but its a bit too heavy for the wife to carry in her case.

Needs to run on a 13 amp socket outlet

You only get what you pay for in a welder - check the 'duty cycle' - small welders [100A] usually only have a 15% duty cycle.

If not sure about any sold in TRNC, try 'Spanias' [near the old 'Homebase'] in the South - they sell good gear!

Most small 'uns double as a battery charger, so if stopped at the border, tell 'em that you always keep it in the back of the car.

To be doubly certain after purchase, take it out of its carton and smear a bit of mucky grease over it with a bit of dust from the vacuum cleaner to make it look well used!

If you are on the east side of Girne, try the shop next door to the new Marshals shop just past the Esentepe turn off. They are doing hire of all building plant and welding gear.
