they talked about the girne by pass for 17yrs they have started but maybe never to be compleated, so the proposed pipeline is only in its infancy i hope your not waiting for it you will be a tad dry (lol)

Turkey to build water pipeline to North Cyprus

Turkey launched on Friday a long-standing project to build a pipeline under the Mediterranean to supply water to the breakaway Turkish Cypriot statelet in northern Cyprus, the Anatolia news agency said. Officials signed a $9.5-million deal with a contractor company for the 78-kilometer conduit that will run at a depth of 250 meters and carry 75 million.

They found a problem when doing the surveys last year, an extra deep channel right en route. Problem is how to "bridge the gap".



That was the last report, target is 2011/12.

Newspaper today,



Turkish PM stated The project should be completed in 3 years beginning in June next year. The turkish government has given necessary instruction to the environment ministry so the project can be finalised.
