Just a short note to vent frustration!

I am as patriotic as they come and an avid supporter of England Football team however having resisted the temptation for 25 years i must now admit - WE JUST DO NOT HAVE THE 'BOTTLE' TO WİN A MAJOR TOURNAMENT.

Embarrased again.

There is a long way to go yet ! As Kenny said , we drew the first game in 66 and then look what happened ! The Americans are no mugs ! They are in your face for the whole 90 minutes and they fully deserved a draw. We didn't have a player out there who could unlock them , maybe Joe Cole could have ?. Although Green will get the blame for letting in a soft one , the whole team didn't function, i think Capello got it all wrong . If Wright-Phillips can play for England ....so can i..!!

To be fair to Heskey ,he did have a good game last night ,unlike several others who went " missing ". Did Rooney touch the ball in the first half ? Why play Milner when he obviously wasn't fit ? The team was so disjointed it was painful to watch how the yanks split us open . Capello has picked so many players who haven't played a lot of football lately because of injury. The Ferdinand breakdown highlighted this . How many more will go down ? . It was a gamble that has already backfired, surely for the biggest competition in world football you must take your best players and not just the ones with reputations .

I agree with the sentiments of Mr Perfect. I believe we have a world class manager (pity he's not English) who has a football brain. He can only work with the tools available. I thought at one time it was just the amount of money that players are paid (not earned) but I don't think it is. Look around at other international teams who are paid as much, if not more. They too have a football brain. It is only when we meet other international teams the problem is highlighted in that I believe that we no longer play with passion and pride. Individual players can look good in their club team but they rarely play in a team made up of all English players. Most of the successful teams in England are made up of overseas players.

We are all entitled to our individual opinions but I have to say I switched off at half time.

kamaks did u watch the game last night? try and actually watch the games before commenting. heskey was by far our best player who worked his socks off for the TEAM all night. he may not be the most prolific of goalscorers, but the space and assists he creates for others is second to none.

One TV commentator remarked that perhaps Capello's method of not letting his squad know exactly which positions they'll be playing until 2 hours before a match, showed up a flawed side who looked as if they didn't know who they'd be playing with. The England team therefore looked uncomfortable and uncertain as the match progressed. I didn't know anything about this 'method'. Any of you aware of this ?
