We were invited to go along to meet John Bancroft, and his wife Liz. way out in the Karpaz. Our projects manager Tony and his wife took us over, they had already met John at the pressups for Ismail.

They had told us what a fantastic day we had missed, but we were in the UK that day raising funds for Ismails arm,so we could not attend.

John completed 912 pressups he was a little edgy on the day due to the fact he normally does not appear in public, and was disappointed with the result, within the last few days he has beaten his own personal best and completed around 1260.

He has raised at least 2000 lira for N.A.F.I. (still some to collect)

You would not believe this GENTLEMANS physique, he is 72 years old. (sorry young).

I do not have time or space to tell you of John and his wifes fantastic peacefull non materialistic life, and of the most incredible things he has made for their home, from bits and pieces all collected over the years.

I am in awe of these people.

Legend? Not a word to be used lightly, as you say Johnny.

Inspirational - would be my choice

What a decent guy he seems. Especially when he took the lad paddling after all that exertion. I saw the smile on the kid's face in Cyprus Today. Magical. Well done, John!
