I used to go to a guy in the south not far from the tennis courts. His name is Nakis Theocharides and the tel no: 00357 22675 022.

He trained at Moorfield Hospital in London. He knew that both my husband and myself were from the south and it was no problem, in fact it was him who found the problem with my husbands eyes when everyone else kept saying there wasn't one!

I have since had laser treatment which is the reason I no longer go.

Try A&A Optical Centre. Go to the top of Ledra St, do a left, about 200 metres on left opposite the post office.

Their number is 00357 22664853, make sure you book the Ledra St branch. No charge for the test, if I remember rightly, frames start from 40 Euros, including standard lenses. Just got a pair of my sunglasses fitted with new prescription UVA lenses for £50.00. Nice people their too.

Ocean, I had this done before the south went into the euro and apparently it is extremely expensive now. I paid £800 cyprus pounds 3 or 4 years ago.

Lovinit,

My wife and I used the same one but the cost was a little bit silly. Mine (I admit to having poor vision) came out at 210 Euros for new frames (80) and variofocal lenses in the medium thin range. My wifes were a bit cheaper at 208 Euros for similar things.

When I asked about lens costs for light adaptive lenses I just said I would buy a pair of clip on's and did not bother further. Cost PER LENS for me was 300 Euros and for my wife 250 Euros. We did take the warrenty out on the specs so if they break in the next three years they are replaced for free - includes accidental breaks, could easily happen at those prices!!!!
