Does anyone know how many A4 colour pages you should expect from a cartridge for an HP Deskjet D1460

I have printed 10 and the cartidge has run out. It was not a refill.

Thanks

Were the cartridges the original ones that came with the printer when you first purchased it? If so they maybe were 'demo' cartridges and you will see a marked difference once you buy proper replacement ones. If this is not the case and perhaps you are printing high quality photos then try reducing the resolution in your printer set-up menu.

I've bought loads of Canon Pixma Fine cartridges for my MP240 and they are not recognised by the printer! Oh bugger! They cost a small fortune and they are genuine...

Try Sainsburys cartridges for refills for this model if you can get hold of some. They have at least 50% more ink if you compare with HP ml. Dont be fooled by your computer telling you the ink is gone - keep printing as long as the ink looks ok. I do loads of printing for my hobby and would expect the colour to last about 6 weeks

Always buy original cartridges, specially here in TRNC. Back home we were using compatible ones sometime refill as well. But unfortunately here in TRNC no proper setup.

Msg 1:

Maybe your colour cartridges have just dried out around the print head.

I usually find that the computer printer's 'Service' facility is completely useless because of the above.

It sounds disgusting - but, seriously, have you tried sucking the cartridge print head?

I fill my own cartridges - HP & Canon - and nearly always have to resort to this [revolting!] practice in order to get the ink flowing, or after long periods when the printer lays unused.

But it works well [every time a coconut!] for me!

If that was the original cartridge that came with the printer, then it is not even half filled. You need to purchase a new cartidge which will be full.
