| Britain's most famous TV puppet, Sooty, has marked 60 years at the top with festivities in Lancashire. See bbc.com/news for pictures and video. Wonder how old Sweep is ? my favourite was "Butch" the dog!! and not forgetting the Corbetts who invented and worked them. My youth is flooding back to me now!! LOL. |

| When i worked in the uk, i was asked to do some work in a very nice cottage on the towpath of the Bridgewater canal in Lymm Cheshire. I later found out that the cottage was the home of Mathew Corbett, but i didnt see sooty or sweep they must have been playing in the garden. |
