My son and his wife are coming over next week for a few weeks holiday. He asked me about going to Ayia Napa for a night out, but i dont think he realised the implications. Are there any clubs in the Girne area that they could get into? They are in their early thirties, any advise would be very welcome.

Geoff.

lots of 'clubs' but make sure they are the 'right ones' our friend stopped a couple on their way to the 'night club' near the new harbour! they were going for a night out (few drinks, bit of a boogy) when he told them the 'real' venue, they nearly died of shock! x

Yes, 'night club' here doesn't mean 'disco'! However, there are quite a few clubs that he could try. Mansion, Night Park, Malika. Apparently Ice isn't open at the moment. If they prefer heavier music, there is Ibo's and Tunel. A lot of the locals DO pop over to Ayia Napa on a Saturday night but it's quite far (and dangerous) to drive from Girne if you're not sure of the roads. In fact, driving on ANY Saturday night here is dangerous IMO!

Night Park is central, behind the big car park. Mansion is down by the sea in Catalkoy. Malika is Bellapais traffic lights area. For the rock bars, Tunel is on the Colony road going into town and Ibo's is in Alsancak. I also read that Lacem Restaurant was doing an 80s disco but I don't know if that's still going. IMO Night Park would be the best bet as it gets a big mix of customers, tourists and locals alike.

A lot of 'youngsters' also go to Sunset (Alsancak) on Saturday evenings. A great night out with live

entertainment and a wonderful setting by the beach.

Tango to Buddah in Karakum is always buzzing on a Saturday - we often don't get there till 11pm and it goes until around 4am... Good music, live entertainment - very chic... kinda!!

You may find that Escape's beach club and 5 mile are going too... They are always open till the early hours...

I thought there was a new law introduced a couple of years ago, saying music could not go later than 1am..(due to all the complaints from folk that lived in close proximity? Is this still happening? Might be worth checking out first...nothing worse than just getting down and boogying to suddenly find the lights all turned on, and the music turned off....man, i hate when that happens!! LOL

Hi there,

Are these clubs/discos only open on Saturdays or any day of the week? I plan to visit in late August with my German classmate/friend
