re the tap, we had the same problem, turn the water off, take the tap to any yapi market, buy another, we paid 7tl, you will need some plumbers tape as well, to fix it good x

ocean, sorry to hi jack your thread, but we are also looking for bamboo. Not the sheets but just lengths of bamboo around 15mm in diameter and around 3 meters in length if possible if anyone knows where to get these i would be gratefull.

About the outside tap, if you can isolate the water from the mains which from your post you can, then it is an easy job to unscrew the present one and screw in a new tap with a little thread tape on the thread to make a joint, anyone with a little DIY skill can do this, you dont need a plumber.

Replacing the garden tap seems a bit over the top. Turn off at the mains, and then remove the part of the tap you turn (usually held on by a screw on the side or under a cap in the centre) Unscrew the body of the tap and inside will be a rubber/fibre washer. Replace it and re-assemble.

greenman, most of the garden taps here are the lever type ( ball valves )and not the type with a seperate washer.
