| frank and joan's latest diary entry refers to a parliamentary committee which just reported that the republic of cyprus has no authority to block the north's ports since it does not otherwise control the said territory ...interesting that the south used to assist the volunteers' efforts to lift the blockade on hamas-controlled gaza while working night and day to maintain it on the north events however have moved on however: desperate for worthile regional allies, both south cyprus and israel are talking friendship and even political partnership in order to expose other countries alleged misdemeanors so that's it then? perhaps not quite: although israel-turkey relations are officially in the deep-freeze, to the detriment I'd suggest both to the peoples and the economy of north cyprus, there is the matter of israel's recent multi-billion upgrade of turkey's tanks and planes, and israel's expected delivery to ankara of $150m of pilotless drones due this summer |
