Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to share container space to keep the costs down shipping items over from UK? We will be moving over at some point in the future, but will not be bringing much, if any furniture with us and don't really want to have to pay for a whole container if possible? Also we would love to ship over some garden furniture beforehand as it's so expensive in TRNC, so if anyone does have any spare container space would be more than happy to share costs?

Don't have to ship a whole container over most removals will accept part loads, might have to wait whilst they fill it with other peoples stuff but generally all ok. Olaytrans are very good.

Just a word to the wise the first shipment is usually FOC of any customs or Taxes, but they get you i the end

I have just been hit for £1285 duty and customs as it was my 3rd shipment

I have used Olaytrans and they have been more than helpfull with part containers, the goods go via a shipping agent in Ipswitch

I have not used Jo Personally

compare costs I shipped 3 cubic meters and it caos £ 400 delivered to my villa, i did drop off the shipment in Ipswitch

email hurmus@olaytrans.com

Thanks everyone, did contact Jo earlier this year, but her quote was £2k+ just for the garden furniture and the offer of container sharing wasn't forthcoming so that's why I wondered if it was possible.

Also valid point Smity re how many shipments, cos I believe that you are ok with one shipment being your existing home items being shipped over without paying any duty, so maybe it would be better to wait until we are moving over and ship everything we want at the same time.

Moyra - Jo does have quite a reputation (most good) so contact her again but take note of line one in Msg 5 about personal imports.

A large part of any shipping price is the cubic footage this can badly inflate a price so try to send stuff that you can "flat pack".

Hi Moyra

Shall we start again? The last notes I have were recommending that you leave shipping out your rattan furniture until the rest of your goods were ready to go. If you do want to send it in advance we've a Groupage sailing early July with spare capacity.

Kind regards
