now im no green fanatic by a long way but perhaps the introduction of a few bottlebanks on the island could go along way to clearing up a lot of the broken and discarded glass we see around the place ?

There are bottles that are left on the ground, some evenings at the benches between the play area and statue down at the harbour

There are plenty of bins only feet away. So whats the point.

If someone thought they would make a quick buck out of recycling they wouldn't be so quick to leave the bottles lying about.

There are plenty of bottle banks in North Cyprus. Just look at the sides of any major roads and you will see plenty of bottles

I don't believe there are any recycling facilities here, so even if we all collected our bottles and put them in a bottle bank - there is simply no-where for them to go, and sending them to Turkey would cost a fortune. What we need is a re-cycling plant here. They collect, wash and sterilise the big water bottles - I don't see why they can't set something up for regular plastic bottles and glass?

botanica if only, i cringe every night at the amount we bin. just think of the money they could save by using recycled. x
