Had all our air con units serviced last year by Nige and they were all working perfectly but when I switched one on this week it keeps tripping the main electricity switch........ anyone know what the problem is??

The unit may have a failed compressor which has gone down to earth.

How old is the unit?

Hi Vaughan - The house is 5 years old and units fitted by builder but because of family problems they have only been used for the last 3 seasons
