I have got a stand up water cooler/heater. Just recently the cold water is tasting a bit metalic/brackish.

(I have tried 3 different bottles).

The cooling/heating tanks are sealed.

Does anyone know what you can flush the water tank through with to give it a clean?

Cheers in advance.

Brackish means it is a dilute salt solution like the water in an estuary, I'm thinking you maybe mean a bit earthy/ peaty and not brackish.

You can clean the system out fairly easily using Milton tablets as described above... it's perfectly safe and you should notice a distinct improvement in the taste... if it still tastes brackish I would change your brand of bottled water...

water is tasting a bit metalic the reason is the water containers are left in the sun too long this is what my neighbour said when we asked the reason icy water is what we buy but i think they taste the same

outdoor storage is the reason buy someone may know more

How often should it be cleaned, roughly. Or do you just wait 'till the water doesn't taste right?

We have these at work and they say every 3 months but would do them more in hot weather.
