Congratulations, all the very best for the future for the little one and all the family.

A wee poem that says it all.

May the best you've ever seen be the worst you'll ever see.

May a mouse never leave your larder with a teardrop in its eye.

May your chimney keep happily smoking till your old enough to die.

May you always be as happy as I wish you now to be.

Sorry, felt a little nostalgic there, had to translate it from scots, not that you wouldn't understand it, I just can't write scots.

Got it in one Chris, Just being a parent again has made me feel like a whole new person. Can't imagine how being a grandparent or even the great, greats and so on must feel but I have hope for the future.

The poem is an old one but in my family it was and still is a traditional statement at all happy occassions, just thought I would share it.

If anyone does recognise the englified version I would love to know the original scottish author.

Congrats to all.

Never mind, just googled it. Allan Ramsay of Ayr.

Here is the rest of it but not quite as apt for the occasion:

May those who live truly be always believed, And those who deceive us be always deceived.

Here's to the men of all classes, Who through lasses and glasses Will make themselves asses!

I drink to the health of another, And the other I drink to is he In the hope that he drinks to another, And the other he drinks to is me.

Then let us toast John Barleycorn, Each man a glass in hand Andy may his great prosperity Ne'er fail in old Scotland!

Todays task of learn something new completed

Congratulations and welcome to the world Elizabeth Mary and may we wish her good health and happiness always.

We have six grandchildren and they are all the biggest joys of our lives. You will enjoy your grandchildren in a way more than having your own children because you do not hold the main responsibility for them but all the fun.
