Bringing cash in and out of TRNC

Does anyone know how much cash you are legally allowed to bring into, or take out of, the TRNC?

I think you can bring in as much as you like, but only take out 10K pounds.

I assume that you mean £10k carried on your person. I believe that you can bring in/take out as much as you like by bank transfer.

However much you have going in/out here or UK it is only a "concession" and can still be stopped and questioned as to why you are carrying a large sum rahter than do bank transfer.



You can be questioned for as long as the people deem fit and may mean missing your flight if you do not have adequate answers.



The limits of bank trnasfers are a bit more difficult and have criteria attached. I can currently transfer up to £20k per day (was as low as £8k) from UK to here and there will be a similar limit from here. However as I recently found out after transfering a large sum over a few days I got a phone call from the bank asking questions. All to do with money laundering.



Also do not forget if you loose or have stolen a large sum of cash you are not insured!!!!!!! So be careful and think before you decide.
