The Grand Prix in Valencia is boiling up nicely. Alonso is looking very competitive on his " home " soil. With various teams trying out " update packages " , it is making for a very good race. The Ferraris are looking very quick as are the Mercedes. The Red Bulls are there as usual but the McLarens duo , Button and Hamilton looked very one paced and i think they will struggle on the street circuit. Roll on Silverstone !!

Yes, Clarissa is very happy with Alonso being first, Playboy - only fifth in the practice.

Mercedes is not spectacular : 0.367-1.00 seconds slower than the best result and

God is only 11th (I am very sorry, Rigsby).

Re : Msg 5,

You are such a darling, Rigsby!

But I fear that Gnome ( Vettel ↔ Der Gnom, as Germans call him) is going to win if, of course, his car is not disintegrated in the process !

Re : Msgs 5-7,

All my fears came true! It's a pity I don't bet.

9 drivers received 5 -sec penalties, and God demands clarification of the safety car rules.

Clarissa2

Who were the 9 drivers?

And what does that do to their final positions?

Jenson Button, Rubens Barrichello, Nico Hulkenberg, Robert Kubica, Vitaly Petrov, Adrian Sutil, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Sebastien Buemi and Pedro de la Rosa have all received penalties from the Valencia stewards for safety-car rule infringements.

All nine men will have five seconds added to their final race time for speeding under the safety car during their in-laps prior to pitting following Mark Webber’s dramatic crash in the early stages of the European Grand Prix.

In a separate incident, Timo Glock has had 20 seconds added to his race time for ignoring blue flags.

Official results from the FIA will follow.

1 Sebastian Vettel RBR-Renault 57 1:40:29.571

2 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 57 +5.0 secs

3 Jenson Button McLaren-Mercedes 57 +12.6 secs

4 Rubens Barrichello Williams-Cosworth 57 +30.6 secs

5 Kamui Kobayashi BMW Sauber-Ferrari 57 +30.9 secs

6 Robert Kubica Renault 57 +32.1 secs

7 Fernando Alonso Ferrari 57 +32.8 secs

8 Adrian Sutil Force India-Mercedes 57 +35.1 secs

9 Sebastien Buemi STR-Ferrari 57 +41.2 secs

10 4 Nico Rosberg Mercedes GP 57 +44.3 secs

Re: Msg.9,

AJ,

Button, Barrichello, Hulkenberg, Kubica, Petrov, Sutil, Buemi, Pedro de la Rosa and Liuzzi. Ferrari say 5 sec is not enough.

It has't changed the results that much, only 3 top 10 results are affected:

Alonso, who was ninth, swapped places with Buemi and became 8th; de la Rosa lost his 10th place to Rosberg. Button still 3rd and Schumi - 15th.

Glock had 20-second post-race penalty for ignoring blue flags.

Was frightening to watch! It certainly shows the safety tech that goes into the cars.

I bet he's a bit stiff today though.
