Hi Irena

Wow you will be spoilt for choice! We have Lemar (good for a big shop) Starling. Bectas, Illeli, Atakara & Tempos not to mention all the smaller 'markets' who sell almost everything you may require. When I first came here I used to try a different one each time. I mainly use Atakara in Alsancak for every day stuff nnow with an odd trip to one of the bigger ones for things I can't find. Oh and there's also Bells Foods which sells a lot of English stuff (most of which you can now get in all shops.

Have fun trying them all out!

What is Bells Foods like as a supermarket, compared to the others.

Generally I love the supermarkets in NC, even though in the UK I have Morrisons, Asda, Sainsburys, Tescos and others all more or less on my doorstep.

None of these sell proper local produce like the NC supermarkets.

guys....... this shocked me.... my friend was in asda and have a guess what she fround......

Cemilca (NC Lemonade)

Su (NC bottled water)

Bottles of efes

Those packets of waffers (you get orange and strawberry flavour)

single packet cakes!!

How cool is that!!

Back to the topic, I would agree ileli is good, the starling next to this is also good. Lemar in karaologlou (excuse selling) is also good, and they advertise on here their specials, Hur denez also.

The only problem with some of the markets is that they do not price everything up, eg frozen foods etc and sometime you dont know what the special offeres are.

But apart from that they are pretty good.

As the lady said above you will be spoilt for choice.

My mum said that there is also a good supermarket open near Ercan airport its a distance out but might be interesting to see.
