There are lots of the old members who no longer post, you have to be pretty thick skinned to keep posting with all the bickering and snide remarks that are made on this forum. Even threatening emails are not beyond some members. The moderators seem to ban some members for trivial reasons and let other members get away with everything they want to throw at you. I still like to read the posts but I don't post as much as I used to or would like to because of fear of abuse and I think this is why most members eventually stop posting

The Butler's wife is bang on. That is why Marie B stopped and will NOT return. And in any case, no one REALLY cares do they. This is an information and insult board. If the info is good, then the postings are good and worth reading, if the insults are too many, then the postings and bad and not worth reading.



End result - goodbye to the tender hearted. Words hurt! Insults hurt! And as you say, some get banned, others saythey are not posting and then re-appear with their insults and bad tempers, and there seems to be no balance. Shame.

I totally agree with message 7 and 9, it is sad when the Butler's wife says she would like to post more often but does not for fear of abuse, I have heard this before.



I myself have had string of insults and abuse, it makes you reluctant to post.

A lot of people with information of value to all the users have as the saying goes "had it up to here" that is why they stop posting.

Why take insults and umbrage from those who often know far less than they say they do? Many of the "insulters" are also self opinionated or think that continually jostling is fun when the people they are affecting are often far more sensitive than they realise (that's often how they learnt to get information).

If you look at recent postings they are far fewer or non-existent from people like Teresa, Ian, Marie, Libby, Hans, Ismet, Joan and many others even myself. In many cases they have far more experience and understanding with regard to North Cyprus than many of their detractors; and are willing to help all who ask & for the common good.

You can be sure that insults and attacks are not why they chose to live in North Cyprus or to visit and support it. A little bit of thanks and praise goes a long way; sadly it’s not often found on this board.

Brian - Msg 13 - the complaint is about the complainers, whiners, those who slag off the posters and moaners in general not about the TRNC.

I have no idea how long you have been an expat or supporting North Cyprus but many of those who are putting their heads under their carapaces to stop stones being thrown at them have been visiting or living there for many, many years and love it with all it's faults.

And the Good book says "the meek will inherit the Earth" Obviously, they won't. The insulters and those of bad temper must not be allowed to prevail, there will be a "balance", eventually.

This old friend (to some) is having a break from the forum for a few weeks, I feel that it has lost it's way lately and some people only post here to insult or upset people. Myself, Jeannie and Spider have been the subject of much uncalled for abuse of late by a person who while portraying themselves as an educated individual actually comes across as a vile and vindictive human being.

There are many people on this forum that I have a lot of time for and have had debates with even though we have different opinions, there are also people who quite simply make me sick, DC and DC for instance, one is a self obsessed hypocrite and the other has left a village short of their idiot ( multi choice answer),those who use foul language to put their point across and of course the charming Sal as mentioned earlier.

I'll be keeping an eye on here to see if things improve, God willing.

More importantly the forum generally goes quiet during the 'summer months'. People would rather be outside than sitting in on a pc.
