I was wondering if there are any other Americans living here except for me???!!!

There sure are. But they will have to introduce themselves. Some work for the unis but could be away now. Do not despair. They are there.

Thanks Maz,

It's alright, no big deal...it's actually nice NOT being surrounded by Yanks but I'm sure the ones who live on the island would be interesting to talk to!

We've had a house here since 2005 and now live here permanently - Canadian and American! If you go to the Levant restaurant in Karmi the owner there is Canadian.

Hey John!

Live and work here....Denver seems a long way away right now.

Am missing the American sense of humor -- which is not remotely close to British, right?

There certainly aren't very many of us, are there?

Hey Lisa Ann,

I've never been to Denver but maybe someday.

I'll let you know when I land...I'm still in La La Land ( Los Angeles ) and hating it.

This place really sucks, can't wait to come back to Cyprus...

Do you need anything from this Cheeseburger nation?

Hi all you Americans. I'm British (and living here permanently) but am wondering if any of you are ex-Barbershoppers. I was, in England for 12+ years and am keen to take up the art again. I'm bass, so looking for lead, alto and tenor. Just hoping!

Hey Tia,

Is your LA friend single?!

That would be an added plus...

Sounds great, let's start a club!

We could meet at the Sempati?

I'm sure Erkan wouldn't mind.

I'll be there on July 16th and I'll contact you!

Hey John

We're leaving Wednesday for NJ and don't get back til 10 August - my friend from California is house/dog sitting for us for five weeks!! Will put her in touch with Lisa Ann though so if all you N Americans get together she won't miss out ........... and yes, they are both single

Where's the Sempati? Seem to remember seeing it somewhere but not sure where. Be great if they allow a bunch of (rowdy??!!??) N Americans to meet there.

I'll make sure we bring back a bag full of Reese's p'nut butter cups for the first meeting!!!! Any other requests???

I went to the 99 cents store and I got your Reeses Spider, 4 cups in a 3 oz. package for 80 cents!

I bought you 4 packages, if you open one each month you'll be happy for 4 months!

If I have room and weight I'll buy you more.

They really don't have that in Cyprus?

What about the Carrefoure on the dark side?

Have you been there?

I've been to Carrefoures in other countries and they are usually stocked pretty well!

I've arrived group...how are you all?

The Reeses Peanut Butter cups melted but they are here and the Miracle Whip had to be tossed, I'm so sorry, Dela wanted to charge me $75 for overweight so I had to pack some books with me on the plane and throw the Miracle Whip away!!!

Anyways, would love to get together...

Hiya, I'm Scottish and my husband is Turkish, but we are both HUGE NFL fans, I'm a 'Cheesehead' and he's a 'Patriot' - we don't live there permanently yet, but will let you know if we're coming over and we can talk football. Well that's assuming you're an NFL fan too?

Still in NJ - we've had the task of sorting mother-in-law's house and have a yard sale this weekend - not my idea of a fun vacation but it has to be done!!! Off to Ky on Thursday and then to UK. Will be back in TRNC on the 10th. Maybe the "YANC Club" (Yanks Around North Cyprus!!!!) will have materialized by then?!!!!!!!!!

Will be in touch when we return.

@nikeGirl. Which part of VA did you live in? I grew up in Richmond. To everyone else, I'm about to go back to the states on wednesday til August 10 (where I will manage to pack in visits of at least one night to NY, VA, SC, FL and TX) so if there are any small things you'd like me to try and bring back (I'll give the peanut butter cups a shot, definitely) let me know. I'll be close to my weight limit coming back, so nothing too heavy, please. It'd be great to get all of us together in August. Maybe if we get enough of us together we can convince a bar owner to show an NFL game some day.

Also, I don't know if any of the rest of you have been affected by the KTHY collapse, but my wife and I recently flew out of Larnaca as a last minute replacement to the tickets we couldn't use with CTA. I have Ercan stamps in my passport and was given a MASSIVE hassle by the customs officer at the airport. They can't stop EU citizens from travelling out via Larnaca but Americans/Canadians etc. are a different story. They did their best to keep me from travelling and were of course immensely rude to my wife for the crime of being Turkish. I stared them down, quoted some relevant EU laws about free movement of citizens and their spouses, and threatened to call the Embassy and they eventually backed off , but if you are not travelling without an EU citizen spouse you may find it difficult or potentially impossible to pass through. Hopefully none of you have to fly into or out of the south, I certainly won't be doing it ever again.

Hello Mozgor and Nike Girl,

Invade away!!!

Yes I like football but I've lived out of the USA for most of my life so I am a bit rusty!

I just got into the TRNC on Friday and it's good to be back.

Let me know when you all come back here!

American, born in San Francisco, worked in Los Angeles and retired in Las Vegas, building a house on the beach just returned from Northern Cyprus after 3 weeks of yelling and screaming at builders, electricians and such.

Need to establish American connections with my British born, but Turkish Cypriot wife.
