Looking for up to date insurance for cars in the south from the north on an annual policy, tried some phone numbers on previous threads and they are out of date. So if anyone has done this in the last couple of months I would be interested.

Any ideas other than at the border?

The last time that I went across, a few weeks ago, it was €35.00 per month.

I didn't particularly look at the annual fee, but I have never known them give a discount for paying for 12 months in advance - it is normally 12 x the monthly charge.

I'm sure that if anyone knows any different, then they'll say...

Thanks for the info.. was trying to avoid the border as you are right they do not do any discounts, which I am sure this is how they make a lot of profit.

So still interested in an annual policy for the south...suggestions please...nice ones...

I have just been 'advised' that we paid 25 €uros last time - I put it down to a faulty memory module...

If you buy an annual premium at the border then you do get a slight discount. Can't remember the exact figures but you save around the 30 euros.

Keithcaley I pay 25 my hubby pays 30. It's to do with the size of the vehicle; mine being a little Rav his being a monster truck thingy.

If is is possible why not contact a broker in the south and ask if you can insure your car annually in the south. If you can I'm sure it wouldn't cost you 300-400 euros annually.

You would then have your policy for the north and one for the south
