Caught a bloke trying to steal stuff out of our garden about lunchtime. He saw we and legged it. Theres 2 of them one that drives and the bloke who gets out. They're in a white pickup van. Has some writing on the side but unfortunately didn't catch what it said.

Yes I know it - I'm up in Baspinar - bit worried as the useless kitchen fitter removed my kitchen window last week and it's patched up with cardboard! now I daren't go out!

would have done but didnt get the reg number of the van. Not a great deal they can do without that.

Thanks for putting this on Mike, fore-warned and all that.... Teresa is right though, I hope you informed the Police. I have spoken to them a few times over the past few years and they have always been very helpful.

as a matter of interest what force can you use to protect your property? Is it like UK where you can use necessary force (I think thats very ambiguous). Don't want to inadvertantly break any laws ;-)

Don't be tempted to use force except 'in extremis' - I suspect that the law would come down heavily on favour of the locals - just get details, and ring the police - PRONTO !

Lapta Mike. I might be able to help you solve the mystery of the two 'thiefs' yesterday. The local council sent two men in a white van with writing on the side, to check on swimming pools (to ensure that the water is clean and not green and stagnent). They were in your area late morning/lunchtime. Do you have a pool? If so, maybe these were your visitors.
